Liz Morasso, LCSW (she, her, hers)
Hi! I’m Liz, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and psychotherapist, and I specialize in helping individuals and families navigate the complexities of chronic illness, grief, ADHD, and autism. Whether you're facing a health challenge, coping with loss, or exploring neurodivergence, I’m here to support you in finding healing, balance, and growth.

As someone living with lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and neurodiversity, I deeply empathize with the full spectrum of challenges these experiences bring. I’ve walked that path myself, which is why I’m not just your therapist—I’m a partner in this process. For over 15 years, I’ve worked with people of all ages, supporting them through chronic pain, cancer, diabetes, and autoimmune conditions. My approach combines evidence-based methods like EMDR, Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), all while providing neurodiverse-affirming care tailored to your unique needs and strengths.

What Sets Me Apart
-
Real-life experience: Living with chronic illness and neurodivergence, I offer a level of empathy that goes beyond textbooks. I get it—body, mind, and heart. You’re not alone in this.
-
Over 15 years of experience: I’ve worked with kids, adults, and families in pediatric and adult healthcare settings, giving me a wide lens on what it takes to navigate these challenges.
-
Specialized training: I’ve received training in grief therapy and neurodivergent-affirming care. That means I’m equipped to provide you with tailored, compassionate, and inclusive care, no matter where you are.

My Therapy Style
In our sessions, I believe in tailoring everything to you. There is no “one-size-fits-all” approach here. We’ll dig into how your unique brain works, and I’ll help you figure out what you need to achieve your goals. Whether we’re processing past trauma, tackling day-to-day stress, or building new coping strategies, I’ll guide you every step of the way.

You can expect:
-
Evidence-based techniques like EMDR, MSC, and CBT to help you heal and grow.
-
A warm, empathetic, and client-centered approach. I’m here to meet you where you’re at.
-
A little bit of humor: Life is tough, and sometimes, a good laugh makes it all feel more manageable.

Beyond Therapy
When I’m not in therapy sessions, I’m doing the work behind the scenes to improve the mental health system. I supervise up-and-coming clinical social workers in California, help organizations build better support systems for neurodivergent individuals and those dealing with grief or chronic illness, and speak at national conferences.

I’ve also facilitated support groups for organizations like the Arthritis Foundation, UCLA, and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. My focus is always on creating community and shared learning, because when we come together, we’re stronger.

A Little More About Me
When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me:
-
Indoor cycling
-
Listening to punk rock
-
Eating boxed macaroni and cheese (because, well, carbs)
-
And, of course, spending time with my dog and two cats, who may make an appearance in our sessions
